Delete your account

bChat (bitcoinchat.online) and bWallet, by The Bitcoin Corporation Ltd.

In the bWallet app

  1. Open bWallet and go to Settings.
  2. Under Account & safety, tap Delete account.
  3. Read what will be deleted, type your $handle (or DELETE) and confirm.

The app signs the request with your wallet's identity key, so nobody else can delete your account. It then removes the account from your phone.

Without the app

Email bitcoincorp11@gmail.com with the subject “Delete my account” and your $handle. We will ask you to prove the account is yours (for example by signing a short message with your wallet) and then delete it within 30 days.

What is deleted

  • Your $handle registration and bChat profile, and your name@bwallet.space paymail.
  • Your direct messages (whole 1:1 conversations) and your messages in ordinary chat rooms.
  • Contacts, blocks, chat settings, notification tokens and sign-in sessions.
  • b agent payment quotes, call history and call settings tied to your identity key.
  • Linked wallet addresses, API keys, passkeys and sign-in history.

What cannot be deleted

  • Anything on the Bitcoin SV blockchain: transactions, tokens, NFTs, inscriptions and on-chain posts are public and permanent. Nobody, including us, can remove them.
  • Your wallet's keys and funds: they are on your device, not with us. Back up your recovery phrase first.

What we keep, and why

  • Identity verification (KYC) records, kept for the period anti-money-laundering law requires.
  • Signed documents, company registers and records of agreements you are a party to.
  • Messages in company, deal and token rooms whose records others rely on (your DMs and ordinary rooms are removed).
  • Reports you filed about other users' content, without your name.
  • A record that a deletion happened, holding only a one-way hash of your handle.
